The saddling box was designed as a multifunctional structure that harmonizes functionality with the cultural and environmental context of Dubai and the UAE. Serving as a rest area for riders and a versatile top level for hosting post-race events and accommodating international guests. The concept balances high-end aesthetics with cultural authenticity, crafting a space that feels deeply connected to the environment and perfectly suited for Dubai’s elevated standards.
Inspired by traditional gathering spaces and the natural desert landscape, the structure incorporates sand-inspired walls to create a familiar and comforting environment for horses while maintaining a luxurious atmosphere for visitors. Materials such as timber wood planks, rubber pavers, exposed aggregate, gravel, and micro cement were carefully selected to ensure durability, comfort, and a tactile connection to the environment, with gabion walls further emphasizing the natural aesthetic. This thoughtful integration of cultural authenticity and modern functionality results in a space that blends seamlessly into its surroundings, offering a refined yet grounded experience.
