STUDIO D.04

Fatima Al Zaabi is an Emirati architect and co-founder of studio D04. She developed her design approach to explore different material processes with advanced digital fabrication methods that incorporates traditional local crafts and culture that is apparent in the work produced in the studio. She received her Bachelor in Architecture at the American University of Sharjah and received a Master of Science in Architecture Design and Research in Digital Technologies concentration, at the Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning, University of Michigan. As the Managing Director, Fatima is responsible for tying together the firm’s disciplines into one aligned vision, she is able to see the bigger picture and strives to create memorable yet simple, functional and tactile designs that last.

Noora Al Awar is an Emirati architect and co-founder of studio D04.  Noora’s ideology is the continuous exploration and reflection of traditional and cultural concepts into the design world today. She received her Bachelor in Architecture at the American University of Sharjah. Her work focuses on combining a strong intuition for materials with extensive technical details and reinterpreting local traditions as the foundation of the studio’s work. As the Creative director, she is focused on building client relationships and collaborations by creating tailor-made client experiences.

Afnan Amin is an Emirati architect. She received her Bachelor degree in Interior Design from Zayed University and her Master in Architecture from the University of Melbourne, Australia. Her philosophy is to create unique, minimalistic and timeless design within the fields of architecture and interior design. Through her work, she looks at the balance between functionality and aesthetics, where client needs are embedded through the creative journey. As the Operational Director, her role in the studio focuses on realizing the studios design values from concept stage all the way through to project completion.
